By analysing and distilling complex energy regulations into practical, informative advice, you'll ensure operational risks are well understood and mitigated as we shape policies that drive our net zero ambitions.</p>\n<h3> </h3>\n<h3><strong>What you’ll be doing:</strong></h3>\n<p>Reporting directly to the <strong>Compliance Manager</strong>, you'll work independently to keep our regulatory compliance activities running seamlessly:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Risk-Aware Operations:</strong> Analyse and distill complex regulations to provide clear, accurate, and timely advice to operational and commercial teams, ensuring risks are understood and mitigated.</li>\n<li><strong>Business Collaboration:</strong> Build strong internal relationships to seamlessly integrate compliance support into business-wide projects and planned changes.</li>\n<li><strong>Knowledge Building:</strong> Design training materials, practical guides, and advice notes that shape and inform business policy and practice.</li>\n<li><strong>Regulatory Implementation:</strong> Develop an in-depth understanding of new rules and regulations, supporting business areas through their implementation approaches.</li>\n<li><strong>Compliance Culture Advocacy:</strong> Advocate for regulatory integrity, actively promoting good practices and the Standards of Conduct across OVO.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3> </h3>\n<h3><strong>What you’ll bring to the table:</strong></h3>\n<p>You don’t need to tick every single box to apply – if you have the core toolkit and a passion for problem-solving, we want to hear from you!</p>\n<p><strong>The Essentials:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Regulatory Interpretation:</strong> Experience reading and interpreting regulations (ideally within the energy sector) and translating them into clear, actionable advice for operational teams.</li>\n<li><strong>Analytical Precision & Detail:</strong> A keen eye for detail, pride in accuracy, and a natural curiosity to ask better questions and spot things that don't look right.</li>\n<li><strong>Organisation & Adaptability:</strong> Ability to prioritise tasks effectively, manage your own workload, and adapt seamlessly to changing priorities.</li>\n<li><strong>Communication & Collaboration:</strong> Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of explaining complex rules in plain language and building strong relationships.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Nice to have (but not essential):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prior experience using workflow tools like <strong>Jira</strong>.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3> </h3>\n<h3><strong>Where & how you’ll work:</strong></h3>\n<p>We believe in flexibility that works. You’ll be assigned to your closest hub office (<strong>Bristol, Glasgow, or London</strong>).
