We're committed to building Belonging at OVO, not just because it's the obvious and right thing to do but also because a more diverse and inclusive workforce is a happier, more engaged and more productive one.
The fact is, we’re a kinder, stronger team when we work together. And we can’t change the world unless we bring everyone along for the ride! That’s why we work tirelessly to promote Inclusion and Diversity, in all sorts of ways. From tacking systemic issues, to challenging unconscious bias – we’re serious about giving everyone at OVO the same opportunity to thrive.
We have made great progress on equality, diversity and inclusion. We’re on a journey. We know that we have a long way to go but we are proud of our progress. Here are some of the things we have achieved:
We committed: we signed the Race at Work Charter, TechTalent Charter, Trans in the City, Mental Health at Work and Powerful Women Pledge
We launched 8 Belonging networks, all with a senior sponsors
We listened to the experiences of our ethnically diverse colleagues and captured their thoughts and ideas for improvements to form part of our diversity strategy
We improved our data: We reviewed the demographic categories used in our HR system and increased completion rates to c. 80%. We are now regularly using this data to monitor equity in our people’s experience, including talent attraction, pay and progression
We published our data: We publish an annual Belonging Report which also includes our Ethnicity and Gender Pay Gap reporting for 2022
We communicate with our people on a regular basis sharing updates on actions taken and the impact we had. This has led to an increase in our Peakon Belonging Score from 7.5 to 8.3 out of 10 in just 24 months. We even launched our own podcast series, with special guests each month talking all things OVO Belonging
We reviewed and updated all our Belonging policies, launching a new set of inclusive policies including transitioning at work. And we audited and improved our Talent Acquisition processes to eliminate any potential discrimination. Check out our Belonging Policy here
